Chionetti Wine Masterclass, 6:45pm (Wednesday 15th April)

Chionetti Wine Masterclass, 6:45pm (Wednesday 15th April)

Wednesday 15th April | 6:45pm - 8:15pm

We're thrilled to welcome Alex Worthington, Area Manager for Negociants Australia, for the next event in our Masterclass Series.

The Chionetti family winery, located in Dogliani, Piedmont, has been a cornerstone of Italian winemaking for over a century. Founded in 1918 by Giuseppe Chionetti, the estate began with a small farmhouse and vineyard in the San Luigi area, perfectly suited to viticulture. The family gained recognition for elevating Dolcetto di Dogliani, transforming it from a simple table wine into an expression of depth and character. By the mid-20th century, Quinto Chionetti and later his son Andrea pioneered a cru-oriented approach, labelling wines by individual vineyards long before it became common in the region.

Despite personal tragedies, the Chionetti legacy endured. Today, Nicola Chionetti, representing the fifth generation, leads the estate with a focus on organic viticulture and expansion into Barolo, cultivating historic crus such as Bussia, Parussi, and Roncaglie. The winery emphasizes hand-harvesting, minimal intervention, and a deep respect for the land, producing wines that reflect both the family's century-old traditions and the unique terroir of Piedmont's Langhe hills.

It's our pleasure to show you the following Wines.

  • Chionetti 2024 Langhe Riesling DOC
  • Chionetti 2022 Barbera d'Alba DOC Vigna San Sebastiano DOC
